Finally! We are back online! After over a year of server issues we have finally found a host that can handle us. The great news is that there was almost no data loss even though we had two server crashes that wiped out the entire site. We will continue working on small bugs and layout improvements.     Making a Spawn in CS:Source:

 First of all build your map,create your spawn areas for the CT's (counter-terrorists) and the T's (Terrorists).

Then hit the entity tool  and place info_player_counterterrorist entity where you want CT's to spawn. One spawn point per player.
(16 CT's = 16 info_player_counterterrorist entity's).
Then place the info_player_terrorist entitys where you want the T's to spawn.

*(make sure you adjust the spawns to be facing the way you want them and make sure they are not in the ground or touching any other brushwork or entitys.)



                          Making the Buy Zone:

Then find the trigger texture and make a brush the size of the spawn area
(or where you want the player to be able to buy stuff).
Highlight the brush and hit the "To Entity" button and tie the brush to
the func_buyzone entity.
Then in the propertties window select which team can use the buy zone.

Hi,

I went ahead and tried this tutorial and for some reason when I run the map I get only one player in spawn and buy zone.  Both the terrorist and counter-terrorist players come up which is me and the opposition that's if I pick two bots when I play outright.  Is there a particular area that I have to place 16 players.  I did the trigger brush for the buy zone and it works fine.  I followed step by step according to your tutorial.  Nice tutorial I might add.   I like this site because it covers so much of each type of thngs you can do with a map.  I give this site an A++++++++.

1 spawn per player.
you want 16 people, you'll need 16 spawns. 8 of each.

make sure spawns are not touching a world brush or model.

one quick question is it possible to disable some things buyble for example you can play on a deagle map but only buy ammo and armor

I dont think there is a easy way to disable one or two guns.

maybe via the server commands. There is an entity that makes a server CVAR. I wonder if you type a mani CVAR to restrict weapons there is it gonna work on a mani server?

im new to map making and im wondering how do u make a brush ? Thats the thing im stuck on. So tehn i can make a buy zone. Because at the moments i can only see func_useladder.

im lost, so a brush is just like a block, so then wat is that triiger thing how do u get that ? to create a buy zone

a brush is a block, the trigger is just the texture applied to the brush. the trigger texture wil be invisible in game.

there are lots of tool textures.

brushes are, like lego, but are not stiki, you can put them in any order to make a structure, so if you want a brige, you need one horrizontal peice, and two vertical colloms

just think of the easyest way of makeing an object, you can work on the detaile once youve done the basics.
